Volunteering with children is one of the most rewarding areas to get involved in. You can really help change the future of the children around you. Kaya has over 50 projects in which you can volunteer with children across South America, Central America, Africa and Asia.

It’s a sad reality that millions of children needlessly die each year because they do not receive the support they need. In Africa alone, twenty percent of children don’t live to see their 5th birthday. Worldwide 30,000 children die every day due to malnutrition and disease-infested water – that’s one child every 3 seconds. The harsh reality is that millions of children across the world are poor; they lack access to safe drinking water, education, nutrition, and essential vaccines, and their poverty leaves them vulnerable with a much higher risk of being exploited and abused.

Here at Kaya we want to break this cycle and provide solutions to children to help them break free from a life of poverty, disease and exploitation. We cannot reach out to everyone but the projects we support really make a difference to children’s lives across the world. Whether you are volunteering with children with HIV/AIDS, working in an orphanage, coaching sports, teaching English or working with abused children you have the chance to develop and equip children with skills for a brighter future.

You don’t need any specific skills to take part in most of our projects, but we can always use any specific skills you have. A love of children, patience and lots of energy is needed to keep up with these enthusiastic youngsters
