We want to encourage everyone to think about travelling responsibly and what better way to do it than by starting young! Although the majority of our projects for individuals are generally only available to the over 18s, we are able to welcome school and college volunteer groups onto most of our projects so long as they are travelling with a teacher or leader who is over 18.

Volunteering on a worthwhile project abroad can really push back the classroom walls and helps bring learning to life - providing so many benefits for students. Taking them off the beaten track and letting them see first-hand the issues faced by so many in the developing world can give them a real insight into the struggles of daily life in developing nations and put their lives at home into context.

Volunteering allows students to interact with the local people in a way that no other travelling experience can. Whether they are on a building project alongside locals working together as a team to improve community facilities or on a teaching project, assisting local teachers in the classroom, or taking part in reforestation, their volunteering experience will give them an insight into a culture that would just not be possible by simply visiting as a tourist.

All of our project sites are evaluated for safety and have health and safety procedures in place and the safety of our volunteers is our key priority. By choosing to take part in a structured programme that employs local coordinators who are well experienced in taking care of the needs of volunteers you can provide your students with a meaningful experience whilst having the peace of mind that they will be well looked after and safe.

Most of the projects on our website are able to cater for school and college groups. For most groups, however, we do tend to create tailor-made itineraries which can accommodate for your groups individual needs. We understand that arranging a group volunteer placement for your school or college is something that takes a lot of organization and forward planning to ensure that every eventuality is covered and that all needs of the group are taken care with. We work closely with all our groups and take the time to ensure that all arrangements are satisfactory to the group’s needs and objectives. What’s more to keep the costs down every tenth member of the group goes for free!
