Volunteering can do just this while giving you invaluable work experience. At Kaya, we have over 200 skilled and non skilled placements suitable for students of all degrees and ages. Whether you have a long break to commit to volunteering, are looking to work on a project to gain credits for your course or degree, or just want to escape the world of studying and have a completely different and unique experience, then Kaya has a project to offer you.
Will Volunteering Make a Difference to a Prospective Employer?
Yes! By volunteering you are giving your time, commitment, passion, energy and enthusiasm to help develop communities or contribute towards environmental improvement. Whether this is imparting your skills, carrying out research, writing, fundraising, building, teaching or nurturing, each volunteer project will provide you with a memorable journey and an experience to put on your CV. The soft skills, such as teamwork, communications and decision making that volunteers develop working on a project provide great examples for interview and an interesting focus for CVs
A recent survey carried out by Time Bank through Reed Executive showed that among 200 of the UK’s leading businesses?
• 73% of employers would recruit a candidate with volunteering experience over one without
• 94% of employers believe that volunteering can add to skills
• 94% of employees who volunteered to learn new skills had benefited either by getting their first job, improving their salary, or being promoted
