About South America

Visions that spring to mind when you think of South America are rainforests overflowing with endless biodiversity, colourful vibrant carnivals the soaring peaks of the Andes and of course the beautiful Caribbean coast containing the second largest barrier reef in the world. Culture and history is also a prominent feature with the Mayan ruins in Mexico and Belize, the Incas in Peru and of course the on-going culture and traditions of the native Indians in Bolivia.

We have some long established projects in South America and it is a fantastic place to volunteer with Kaya. We have a full array of projects from health and nutrition research, building projects, environmental and wildlife projects in national parks, and many community and teaching projects within poor Latin American communities.
