NAMIBIA

Characterised by arid expanses, like the Kalahari desert and the Namib Sand Sea, Namibia has some of the most sublime and dramatic landscapes in all of Africa. Experience the vibrancy of one of the most intriguing countries on the continent as a volunteer or intern in Namibia.

Intern & Volunteer in Namibia

Namibia was the first African country to incorporate the protection of the environment into its constitution! This shows the pride that Namibian people have for their charming country. Unfortunately, due to Namibia’s arid climate, wildlife and communities often compete for the little water the land offers. Animal lovers or those who have a passion for the outdoors will love what Namibia has to offer. Become an intern or volunteer in Namibia and contribute to the ongoing efforts for clean water access, creating an impact as you experience the great outdoors too.

Damaraland is a geographically fascinating region, home to the UNESCO world heritage site of Twyfelfontein, Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes. When you’re not doing volunteer work in Namibia, sample the ethnically diverse food, like the local favourites: Potjie Kos and Kapana or Mopane worms (if that’s your thing).

Over the centuries, Namibia’s capital of Windhoek, has been influenced by a number of different cultures, which is clear through its diverse architecture. In your free time, Windhoek is a great place to start a safari, relax or use as a starting point to travel to South Africa. Adventurous volunteers should consider a trip to Swakopmund, the adventure sports capital of Namibia, where you can participate in sand dune racing or quad biking over the austere terrain. As a volunteer in Namibia you can even take to the skies for a different view of the spectacular landscape on a hot air balloon ride or arrange a skydive!

Join us on an internship or volunteer project in Namibia to join initiatives that improve the lives of local people and animals alike, and make the most of this enchanting country.
