Volunteering in New Zealand

New Zealand has a pretty unique environment and nowhere is this more visible than in its landscape, which includes glaciers, fjords, plains, volcanic plateaus and miles of coastline. Our projects here work to protect this unique ecosystem. As a volunteer in New Zealand our projects on the North Island include helping to boost native biodiversity by providing additional habitat for native birds and restoring the globally rare peat lakes around Waikato.

On the less populated South Island habitat restoration is still key. When you volunteer in New Zealand be part of the work taking place to replant depleted tree species and seed collection.

If you want to volunteer in Asia-Pacific and you can't find what you are looking for in New Zealand then please have a look at our volunteer projects in Australia, Borneo, Nepal, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and India.

About New Zealand

New Zealand boasts the southernmost capital city on the planet. A progressive nation, it was the first country to instate universal suffrage in 1893 it became legal for all of the male and female citizens of New Zealand to vote. It was the last major landmass to be populated, sometime between 800 – 1300 by Maori settlers from the south pacific. It is a developed country but environmentally it is a must see for people who love the outdoors. There is nowhere in the world that looks quite like New Zealand.

  • Skiing and snowboarding

New Zealand is an internationally recognised skiing and snowboarding destination.
