By volunteering in Ghana you can have a unique opportunity to become part of an exciting new newspaper initiative and help to expand readership with riveting and thought provoking content. Launched with its first issue on the 4th March 2011 and with a circulation already of over 2,000, this National Media Commission registered newspaper is determined to deliver strong content, professional design and quality of information to their discerning readers. At present, the newspapers content includes entertainment, sports, entrepreneurs, student issues, investment, business, news and stories from around the world. With an eye for a story, you can help this newspaper become elevated in Ghanaian society and become the leader in a competitive field.
Launching a new newspaper in a struggling local market can be challenging at the best of times. With a constant struggle for funding from external sources, low levels of staff working round the clock to keep to deadlines and a constant quest to provide exciting and newsworthy material, volunteers are needed to inject time, words and research to maintain the longevity of the paper. With a committed social arm providing free copies to deprived local communities, this newspaper is inspiring change through quality journalism and great content. You can help to secure the future of the newspaper by lending your knowledge to the small but highly talented loyal newspaper team.
Project Location
Your project will be based in Accra, a bustling and modern landscape hugging the Gulf of Guinea and the largest city in Ghana. While it boasts a waterfront location, most of Accra’s action happens away from the coast line with recent developments turning this once scattered village, into an expansive low rise skyline city. Accra is at once exhausting and exhilarating with the hustle and bustle giving way to coveted areas of peace and tranquillity.
