Learn to Cook Authentic Indian Food

  • Indian cuisine is known the world over for its unmistakable spices, colour and taste. Food serves to bind together India’s various geographical differences absorbing its culture, its religion and its history into their many different national dishes.

    Empowered by the interest of past volunteers, Kaya are giving you the opportunity to become immersed in Indian culture by embracing a unique cooking experience, within the heart of India. We will help to unearth some of the mysteries surrounding Indian cooking as well as helping you to understand the cultural aspects related to Indian food. The project aims to bring to light, today’s real India – experiencing modern and traditional dishes and making visits to the countryside and urban areas to distinguish India’s varied and rich cuisine. Be prepared to turn learning on its head and open your mouth for a true Indian sensory experience.

    This is more of a case, of why you need the project! Those who hold a passion and flair for cooking and a real interest in Indian culture and cuisine will get a unique opportunity to live, breathe, smell and taste the true India. After all, sometimes the best way to learn about a culture is through its food and so is the case with India. Food is an integral part of India’s history, customs and its traditional. Due to the size and scope of India, the country itself has benefitted from numerous cultural, regional, ethnic and international influences, shaping India’s cuisine today. This is your chance to learn and love the diverse selection of cuisines that India has to offer.

    • Project activities: 3 hours of cooking Monday to Friday, visits to street markets a kitchen in Jaipur and spice shop in the city.
