Earth Day Focus and Competition: Green Building

Welcome to the second instalment of our week-long competition in collaboration with Incognito Bug Spray to celebrate Earth Day 2017! Earth Day is on the 22nd of April (this Saturday!) and campaigns to build a global community, fluent in concepts of climate change and its threat to our planet.

Today, we are discussing the idea of green building and how it can help contribute towards the reversal of climate change.

The term ‘green building’ refers to creating buildings and structures that are environmentally responsible and resource efficient. Green building is a great way for us humans to maintain the earth’s sustainability, prolonging the use of natural resources that we need to survive. Green building is increasing in popularity across the world. Green buildings come in different forms from extravagant city builds – such as ‘The Crystal’ in London which treats, recycles and reuses its own waste on site – to much simpler, low-cost buildings constructed from sustainable resources, both of which are just as effective.

At Kaya, we work with a number of building projects that incorporate this idea. One of our most popular projects, based in Belize, allows you to help build sustainable homes for teenagers in the orphanage system. To make these homes, you will be using sustainable resources such as sand bag walls and reed filtration composting of waste. Besides making green buildings, you will be helping provide a safe, stable and healthy home for abused and orphaned children.

Another ‘green’ product that you could take with you when you travel is Incognito Bug Spray. It’s 100% natural and compact with its biodegradable formula clinically tested to provide 100% protection against Zika and malaria carrying mosquitoes. Incognito doesn’t use any pesticides or chemicals, unlike other insoluble environmental contaminants like DEET, it doesn’t pollute the world’s waterways, and kill aquatic wildlife. The water-based incognito anti-mosquito roll on is kinder on both your skin and the planet!

All incognito products are ethically manufactured and put the environment first, to ensure that while protecting you, they also protect the environment, using recycled or renewable source sugarcane plastic in its packaging AND donating 10% of profits to charity.

ENTER TO WIN!

If you would like to be in with a daily chance of winning a sample for yourself, and be entered into the prize draw to win a hamper of Incognito products worth £62, then all you need to do is comment below answering this question:
