This year, from April 13-15th, Thailand gears up for it’s Thai New Year celebration.
As it also marks the end of the dry season, Thai’s and travellers alike engage in a huge water fight, which symbolises the cleansing and rejuvenation of the body and welcomes the wet season.
Chiang Mai is arguably best city to get involved in Songkran festival (Thai New Year), but remember to take clothes you don’t mind getting wet, and keep cameras and phones protected!
