International Women’s Day with Kaya Responsible Travel

So this year, the campaign for International Women’s Day, celebrated on the 8th of March 2017, is called #BeBoldForChange. At Kaya, we think that what better way to accomplish this than to volunteer on one of our women’s empowerment projects? You could help ‘forge a better working world’ whether you are a male or female by working with local staff to help and support these women and girls as they strive to find better futures.

You can take part in International Women’s Day by declaring how you will #BeBoldForChange on their website. By volunteering your time on our women’s empowerment projects, you will be campaigning against violence and celebrating women’s achievements. This is because thousands of women and girls around the world are in vulnerable situations either because of exploitation, abuse or unfavourable treatment. On our projects, you will be able to provide girls and women in developing countries with the skills and confidence to change their own lives as well as helping them to rebuild their self-esteem.

We have a number of women’s empowerment projects, in countries such as The Philippines, Costa Rica and Nepal, but each one focuses on its own goals that reflect the needs of the women and young girls in the area.  As a volunteer, you will be able to get involved in a variety of activities, including counselling, childcare, agriculture and teaching English.
