Win a two week free volunteer abroad placement

To celebrate ten years of ethical, responsible travel, we are giving away a two-week free volunteer abroad placement!

What’s included

One lucky winner will receive two weeks of placement on either our community health and home-based care or HIV/AIDS education and daycare projects in South Africa.

Both of these projects include your accommodation in St Lucia, weekday meals, and airport transfers. All you need to do is get yourself there (and get yourself some insurance – safety first!). If you want a bit more information on either of the placements or what’s included get in touch with a placement advisor today!

If two weeks just isn’t enough for you there’s nothing to stop you from extending your stay (although normal rates apply for anything over two weeks) or combining the project with wider travel plans.

How to Enter

For your chance to win this free volunteer abroad prize all you need to do is complete this entry form by 24th June 2019 and tell us why you want to become a volunteer this year. Maybe you want to visit a new destination, or you have a particular interest in community health, or perhaps this is your first trip abroad and you want to make an impact and give back to the place you visit. Whatever your reason, we want to hear it!

Keep an eye out for the winner to be announced on 28th June 2019!

Testimonial

Bridget Geyer visited the Community Health and Home Based Care Volunteering in and had this to say:

“My time in South Africa was absolutely worthwhile. The challenges I faced helped me to grow but were not so overwhelming that the experience was negative. My advice would be to be open to new perspectives and experiences and focus on soaking in as much as possible. Although it may sound counter-intuitive, I truly believe you can grow the most by being humble and forgetful of yourself, as it allows you to realize how much the people you meet can teach you!”

I will be going to Zimbabwe later in the year to do some marketing for a wildlife reserve near Victoria Falls. This will be my first visit to Africa and I was hoping to be able to tie in some volunteering work while I am over there. As a freelance videographer and graphic designer I would like to build up to working in the humanitarian sector. As I currently don’t have much volunteering experience, this opportunity would be a great first step in the right direction.

I’d like to win this because i’ve been wanting to volunteer for some time now and i want to go to Africa since my parents visited in 2014. Besides, I love the idea of helping others with the benefits of getting familiar with a new culture and a new country.

The only thing that I never doubted in my self is my strong will to help other people who’s not capable to live a normal life. Being young doesn’t mean the world has a right to limits your capabilities to make a change. I believe if you’re really dedicated to do a certain things with your heart in it then nothing can be able to stop you. Though there are some hindrances that we really need to face just to be able to achieve our real goals in life. So now it’s our decision if we take the first step or not. I will not expect much but if I can be able to participate in this kind of service then I will accept it wholeheartedly. To God be the Glory!

Hello, I will love to be a volunteer in South Africa. I have dreamed about it since I was 9 years old. When my dad died and it was his dreamed too. I have done other experiences of volunteering near my house, inside of my country and at others countries. But I will really love to go to Africa. And give my best.

I want to build up my career in this field. Even I have a passion to work abroad. As a student of economics I have to go to visit in the field for research. I enjoy such types of works. So this opportunity will open the door to build up my career.

I want to do volunteer since a long time, having kids has slowen my plans. Now that they are older I would love to share this experience with them once. To show them how helping others can be so fulfilling.
But to learn more about the programm I would love to win this prize to also be able to lead my children into the world of volunteering. It would be a great start!

I really enjoy helping the people in need and making sure I can help as many as I can! If I won this I’d be so so so greatful and happy that I helped and was apart of it! I have helped a disabled children’s home in the past but I really wish to do more stuff like that in the future!!! I love the idea of helping!
