ASIA-PACIFIC

Asia is the largest and most populated continent in the world, with cultural and environmental diversity from the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat to the coral seas of Borneo. Amongst the bustling cities and the tranquil countryside are locations where those looking for a gap year, volunteer or internship can immerse themselves in the meshing of ancient traditions with the modern world in locations such as India, China and Thailand.

Welcome to Asia-Pacific

The Asia-Pacific region spans 2 continents and Asia alone supports a population that is bigger than the rest of world combined.   You can discover a small part of it by volunteering with Kaya in bustling destinations such as Jaipur in India to the more easy paced Tacloban in the Philippines.  From ancient histories at Angkor Wat and the numerous UNESCO sites in Sri Lanka to modern advances in Beijing you can discover more than you imagined in the beautiful countries that make up the continent.  With Kaya you can explore the culture and lifestyle of eleven countries from Nepal to Australia.

Asia-Pacific is not a distinct continent and is home to very diverse cultures, traditions, ethnicities and little common history.  Asia is a continent of contrasts, you can find some of the most modern advances next to peoples and countries that struggle to meet their basic needs. It is a continent of insurmountable diversity from the rural mountains of Nepal to the bustling cities of Vietnam.  From our Turtle Nesting and Island Coral Reef Conservation project in Borneo to the Women’s Empowerment projects in India you can make a difference in the future of the communities you work with.

Making a difference can be as small as helping provide basic Healthcare, Nutrition and Dentistry in Siem Reap or as large as building new infrastructure on our rebuilding project in Nepal. Each project you work with will help to ensure that the sustainability and positive impacts of the community and its people.

From the towering mountains of the Himalayas to the lowest point on earth at the Dead Sea the Asian continent is full of surprises and hidden facts. With opportunities to take a gap year, to get involved in a sustainable volunteer project or internship you have the opportunity to discover and immerse yourself in cultures that have their roots deeply planted back hundreds of thousands of years. Asia is not a place you can experience by visiting a few times, one of the most beautiful aspects of its histories and traditions that you can only begin to scratch the surface of such a region and it will always call you back!
