Finance Internships

As an international finance intern with Kaya you can apply your studies in finance, accountancy, economics, and mathematics to organizations focussed on economic development initiatives. Some of our finance internships are based in microfinance initiatives. Others focus on providing financial management and fundraising support to NGOs, charities and social enterprises. Utilize your financial expertise to review financial records, help establish policies, manage funds, and identify opportunities to increase profits. Share your knowledge and skills with local teams, communities, and organizations to support their long-term success. Explore our finance internships today.

Microfinance projects are a popular placement for finance interns, where they can learn about economic development initiatives that help individuals and families escape poverty by participating in small income-generating activities. Borrowers learn essential skills such as saving and loan repayment, as well as developing a strong work ethic. You can play a crucial role by managing the loan pot and ensuring its stability, even when borrowers miss repayments.

You can also work with small businesses, social enterprises, NGOs, and foundations that need support in financial matters. There is a strong emphasis on transparency in international development and your financial expertise can aid organizations in establishing financial management policies and securing funding. Your contribution to planning and fundraising activities will be invaluable in helping organizations achieve their medium-term goals, which are critical for their survival.

Become a finance intern with Kaya and help organizations and individuals in their quest for financial stability and economic development, while gaming valuable experience. You can join microfinance initiatives in Ghana and Peru, or offer support in fundraising in Swaziland or with the finances of NGOs in Cambodia.

Ideal candidates have strong financial skills, studied basic accountancy, are proficient in Excel, and have an understanding of financial policies. You will work with diverse groups of people, including local borrowers who may not speak your language, so good communication skills and adaptability are essential. Above all, bring a positive attitude and a willingness to assist. Join us and make a difference in people’s lives while gaining new experiences in a unique setting.
