Role of the Educational Psychology Intern
You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of therapy and educational psychology, working alongside professionals to make a positive impact on local communities in Morocco.
Some of the roles and responsibilities you will have:
- Teach English to disadvantaged groups or their supervisors in NGOs.
- Help in therapeutic workshops and activities for adults with mental illnesses (schizophrenia, depression, dementia) in a post-clinic treatment center. Activities include sports, cooking, pottery, and hands-on activities.
- Assist in submitting requests for sponsors and setting up projects. Write reports, translate documents from French to English, and proofread in English.
- Develop games and activities for cognitive stimulation therapy.
- Train families of patients to support their mentally ill family members.
- Digitize documents for NGOs.
- Support medical professionals in promoting health rights.
- Assist as needed and help proofread English documents.
- Shadow and assist local staff with the opportunity to rotate through various departments.

About the Location
You will be located in the colorful and lively town of Rabat. Rabat is the administrative capital of Morocco and blends an interesting mix of the modern world and the old French colonial influence with a traditional typical old Moroccan world, rich in architecture and Arabo-Muslim influences.
Accommodation
We offer interns a unique home-stay experience, allowing you to live with a local family for deep cultural immersion. There’s no better way to learn about a culture and language than by experiencing daily life firsthand with a host family.

What to do in your spare time
Rabat offers many hidden gems as you may get lost in the many maze-like streets of the Medina. During your spare time, you may want to try some amazing homemade street food. You definitely need to check out the Kasbah des Oudaias palace, Hassan Tower, the street of the Consul where you will find many local handmade artifacts, and just take then the beauty of the old architecture and the craftsmanship that has gone into it. Rabat is also a great location to plan weekend trips to the Sahara Desert, Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech and many other local spots.
