OUR INTERN AND VOLUNTEER IN SOUTH AFRICA PROJECTS
Volunteer in South Africa with Kaya, a country which draws in more visitors than anywhere else in the continent. It could be described as ‘a world in one country’ due to its contrasting terrain, rolling mountains, lively cities, vast array of wildlife, spectacular vistas and gleaming rivers and oceans.
Volunteer in South Africa
We have projects for those wanting to volunteer in South Africa in many different areas, which are suitable for people with a wide range of interests and skills. You can volunteer in South Africa on one of our community projects which range from Sports coaching to Teaching English in rural schools. These projects are perfect for those who want to volunteer in South Africa and have an interest in working with people. For those with an artistic eye, we have two photography placements. If you are keen to help out South Africa’s ‘Big 5’, then our Wildlife conservation programme is just right for you. For those wanting to volunteer in South Africa in more specialist areas, we have various business internship programmes as well.
Despite the great strides this country has made recently, rural areas and shanty towns suffer from a lack of resources for education and health facilities. The gap between rich and poor is extremely evident, thus your volunteer work in South Africa is vital to work on initiatives, which are tackling these problems.
While you volunteer in South Africa you can visit Kruger National Park for a once in a lifetime safari experience to see South Africa’s ‘Big 5’, where the sheer number of animals and natural beauty will captivate you. Or, take a trip to the Drakensberg Mountains, in the north, where the scenery is beyond breathtaking. If you fancy stepping back into history, explore the UNESCO World Heritage fossil Hominid sites that have traces to early human occupation and evolution. Don’t forget to try the local dish of chakalaka, a spicy relish with a secret ingredient!
South Africa’s coast is not to be missed! Why not add on an extra week to your South Africa volunteering and go on the renowned South African Garden Route? You will travel along the south-eastern coast, wander along the fine beaches of Mossel Bay, and discover fantastic gems at every turn, such as the Robberg Nature and Marine Reserve or the Knysna lagoon. If you fancy a surf, don’t miss one of the most famous surfing hotspots, Jeffreys Bay.
Join us at Kaya and intern or volunteer in South Africa on one of our many award-winning projects. Whichever project you choose, your hard work will make a difference to the lives and futures of South Africa’s wonderful communities and wildlife.
