Testimonial
What task on your project did you most enjoy?
Teaching adult English class.
What was your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is the volunteer trips I have done, as these are huge life events that have mapped who I am and who I strive to mold into. Post-volunteer trips feel like a rebirth for me finding a new zest for life that was lacking before. I am grateful to find a purpose at a younger age and can’t wait to see where my passions take me.
Did you feel you made a difference?
Absolutely, the people I have worked with have taught me a lifetime of knowledge. They made a difference in my own life.
What advice would you give future participants?
Don’t second guess, give it your all, go in with an open mind, and fully immerse yourself in the culture whenever possible.
What was your most memorable moment?
For the most recent trip, teaching in Zanzibar, I loved seeing the students retaining what I was teaching. The “ah-ha” moments made me feel like I taught something that stuck and made sense to help student’s learning journeys.
