Volunteer Bio:My name is Stewart Thomson, I am from Balclutha, New Zealand. I have two children and three grandchildren I am an ex farmer. I work for Otago regional council which is responsible for river control etc.
What task on your project did you most enjoy? Butterfly and bat identification
Do you feel you made a difference? Yes
What advice would you give future participants? Support your fellow volunteers and learn from them in which for some is a challenging environment
What was your most memorable moment? Seeing a fer de Lance snake

Great opportunity to see and participate in an experience that is quite unique in that you are able to live alongside indigenous peoples in their own environment. Also you see the local flora and fauna in a non tourist sanitised way.
