Elizabeth’s Remote Internship Experience
I would say that the high point of my remote internship program experience was polishing my skill on speaking in Spanish and being able to greatly improve on it after the course. It was also a truly amazing experience for me to be able to hear the local children’s point of view while I was working with them through the buddy chats.
Meghan’s Remote Internship Experience
I feel like the buddy chats and cultural workshops allowed me to engage in a two-way cultural exchange and I really appreciate that the workshops were recorded as we can always get back to them.
Chin’s Remote Internship Experience
I could have not asked for a better placement! I loved meeting everyone and I am happy to have built a good relationship with my supervisor. I feel that my local buddies are like a second family and I am always looking forward to meeting with them. The cultural workshops helped me on the internship, it was engaging and refreshing! I also appreciate the flexibility of the program. To those who are looking to join the remote internship, I recommend that you keep an open mind, be flexible and be grateful and that will help you have treasured the experience.
Chloe’s Remote Internship Experience
The remote internship program was challenging and also fulfilling. It was great that engaging in the program has still enabled me to manage my time with the internship sessions as well as other activities. One of the things that liked about the internship is having the chance to learn about Ecuadorian Culture. The program has also greatly improved my Spanish writing skills. There were also two cultural sessions that particularly stood out for me where I learned about how COVID-19made an impact in Ecuador through the local’s viewpoint.
Kellen’s Remote Internship Experience
The element of the virtual internship that I liked the most was having a local chat buddy who was so happy to share to me about the culture of Ecuador. Having a local buddy kept me engaged while learning on the internship. I also feel like it was a great achievement to have taught for a month-long class to the group of 8-12-year-olds.
Summer’s Remote Internship Experience
I am so thankful for the opportunity of participating in the placement and I love working with the students at the center and meeting with my local buddies. It was great learning about the Vietnamese culture and I was able to compare it to my own culture. I also found the locals that I’ve met on the program to be so caring and kind. My favorite part of this internship was gaining experience as a teacher and meeting all these amazing students. My greatest achievement was seeing my students enjoy what I was teaching and knowing that I was doing a good job.
Isabel’s Remote Internship Experience
I have been beyond happy to have worked with Kaya on this remote internship placement! The cultural comparison tool was handy because it helped me identify my personality that aligns with the Vietnamese culture.
Daysha’s Remote Internship Experience
I think Globesmart was a great tool. The webinar video and the guidebook I made during my internship was my greatest achievement as that was informative and a really a good piece.
Indi’s Remote Internship Experience
Experiencing the remote internship gave me a sense of fulfillment as I learned a lot regarding the laws in South Africa. I was assigned to exciting tasks and it was such an ease to work with the staff. It was great to get to know the local team and I enjoyed talking to my chat buddy because I was constantly learning from them. It would have been great to be in South Africa in person but even if it was just a virtual visit, it was already awesome. I wrote a research paper on abuse of foreign domestic housemaids as well as a letter of intent on train accidents which I consider my achievements during my internship!
Ankita’s Remote Internship Experience
The Cultural Workshops were absolutely amazing considering that we had to do them remotely.
Anna’s Remote Internship Experience
I am so grateful that I was placed in a project for the virtual internship that fits perfectly well with my passions and allowed me to explore my interests as a result. It’s truly been an incredible experience!
Jordan’s Remote Internship Experience
I love the online cultural workshops and it was so entertaining! I’ve learned a lot from my supervisor and she did an amazing job of teaching us about Ecuadorian culture and tradition.
Elizabeth H.’s Remote Internship Experience
The virtual internship is very interactive and engaging! My schedule would not allow me to work in Vietnam at this time, but the remote internship creates a similar experience at the convenience of my home!
Briannah’s Remote Internship Experience
I had fun talking with my online chat buddy about our cultural differences and I have learned a lot of things that I didn’t expect to gain.
Yuchen’s Remote Internship Experience
I love my host organization and the people I’m working with. They are very resilient and determined in making a change in their lives and others’. I appreciate the opportunity to interact with them and I’ve learned so much!
