I would say that the high point of my remote internship program experience was polishing my skill on speaking in Spanish and being able to greatly improve on it after the course. It was also a truly amazing experience for me to be able to hear the local children’s point of view while I was working with them through the buddy chats.

I feel like the buddy chats and cultural workshops allowed me to engage in a two-way cultural exchange and I really appreciate that the workshops were recorded as we can always get back to them.

I could have not asked for a better placement! I loved meeting everyone and I am happy to have built a good relationship with my supervisor. I feel that my local buddies are like a second family and I am always looking forward to meeting with them. The cultural workshops helped me on the internship, it was engaging and refreshing! I also appreciate the flexibility of the program. To those who are looking to join the remote internship, I recommend that you keep an open mind, be flexible and be grateful and that will help you have treasured the experience.
Chloe’s Remote Internship Experience
The remote internship program was challenging and also fulfilling. It was great that engaging in the program has still enabled me to manage my time with the internship sessions as well as other activities. One of the things that liked about the internship is having the chance to learn about Ecuadorian Culture. The program has also greatly improved my Spanish writing skills. There were also two cultural sessions that particularly stood out for me where I learned about how COVID-19made an impact in Ecuador through the local’s viewpoint.
Kellen’s Remote Internship Experience
The element of the virtual internship that I liked the most was having a local chat buddy who was so happy to share to me about the culture of Ecuador. Having a local buddy kept me engaged while learning on the internship. I also feel like it was a great achievement to have taught for a month-long class to the group of 8-12-year-olds.
