What task on your project did you most enjoy?

I enjoyed thinking of activities for the women and children to do; it was very rewarding to be able to do something fun with them.

What was your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement, as silly as it sounds, was stepping off of the plane in Tacloban. I never thought I would make it to somewhere as far as the Philippines, so even just getting there felt huge to me.

Did you feel you made a difference?

Yes!

What advice would you give future participants?

Have fun and don’t think about it too much; it’s not as intimidating as it seems.

What was your most memorable moment?

A pajama party at the shelter. It meant so much to just let loose and have fun with the clients!

If you’re thinking about it, go for it. My experience with Kaya was everything I wanted and more.
