Public Health Internships

Join Kaya as a public health intern and gain a meaningful global health experience by working on projects focussed on improving the health landscape, providing healthcare education, and promoting well-being in underprivileged communities. Each placement focuses on serving communities lacking sufficient health education, medical support, and home-based care.

As a public health intern, you can play a vital role in organizing and delivering health education sessions on crucial topics such as HIV transmission, hygiene, prenatal and postnatal care, and sexual and reproductive health. Additionally, you may assist with various tasks, including organizing patients, participating in support groups, supporting community nutrition initiatives, and caring for the elderly and children. Some of our public health placements also have a research focus.

Kaya offers several public health internship opportunities, including Rural Public Health Internships in Ecuador, and Community Health and Home-Based Care in South Africa.

To participate in our public health internships, you do not necessarily need prior experience. We do require is a positive attitude, hard work, and an enthusiasm for communicating with people of all ages. If you are studying public health, nursing, or community development, this internship can complement your academic learning.
