Environmental Conservation Volunteer Projects
Environmental matters such as climate change, deforestation, or habitat degradation have long been at the forefront of global conversations, with ever-increasing urgency for action. As an environmental conservation volunteer, you can be part of a generation of people taking charge of our planet’s future.
Environmental conservation volunteers can help out in numerous ways across the projects Kaya offers. Get stuck in and get your hands dirty with reforestation planting, and habitat clearing. Or else aid in the safe access and security of nature and biodiversity through the repair and building of fences and pathways. Arguably most important of all, as an environmental conservation volunteer you could play an essential role in global education of those closest to the endangered habitats. By working with schools and communities you can help to improve understanding of environment conservation, and man’s role in its future.
Kaya’s environmental conversion volunteering projects are run by people who are incredibly passionate about preserving Earth’s habitats and biodiversity. In New Zealand project locations could see you working on the coastline, in the mangroves, or even in city centres. Whilst in Latin America, conservation projects range from such breathtaking locations as the Amazon rainforest, the Andes, or Mindo Cloud Forest.
As an environmental conservation volunteer, you could be protecting habitats and ecosystems, monitoring species, replanting deforested areas, or more. Deforestation and loss of habitats is leading us in the direction of mass animal extinctions, and much of this is happening in some of the world’s most spectacular locations. Click here to meet one of the local people involved in reforestation and urban greening.
Projects that are popular with our environmental conservation volunteers include placements in Peru or in Ecuador. Our permaculture internship in South Africa or green energy internship in China are a great way to compliment your studies while our summer camp is an exciting option for younger and older volunteers to learn about the approaches being taken to tackle deforestation through the use of solar cookers, education and tree planting in South Africa.
To join Kaya as an environmental conservation volunteer, all you require is a passion for change, a love of nature, and a safe level of fitness for undertaking some manual labour. Perhaps you are interested in a specific field of environmental science (maybe as part of your studies). In which case, let us know, and we may well be able to match you to the perfect project.
Join us as an environmental conservation volunteer, and strive for the kind of global change and education that will better our planet, its habitats, and its biodiversity for generations to come.
