Are you searching for a way to grow your skills as a teacher, experience another culture on a deeper level, and contribute to community-led development efforts at the same time? Well, if you’re looking to gain experience in Early Childhood Education, Environmental Education, and more, you’re in luck. We’ve put together a short list of our top 3 Teaching and Education programs available for responsible travel in 2021. So, here’s a taste of some incredible options!
Early Childhood Education in Thailand
If you love working with children, have a streak of creativity and lots of enthusiasm, this might be the start of a grand adventure! Work as an assistant to local teachers in a rural community in Chiang Mai, leading games, telling stories, organizing activities and more. And on the weekends, you’ll have the chance to explore your surroundings and immerse yourself in Thai culture.
But why not consider combining your placement with our Study Abroad & Intern or Volunteer program? You could earn up to 6 credits and take a class on Thai Language and Culture in Bangkok before settling into your rural placement in the North! This would give you a chance to explore the bustling capital and see even more of this dynamic country.
And check this out, if you want to know why Thailand is at the top of our destination list for 2021.
Teach English, French or Spanish in Morocco
Travel in 2021 isn’t limited to Thailand, though, of course! Travel to Morocco and help improve the language skills of local children while enhancing your own skills as a teacher! Classes in Moroccan public schools are often overcrowded with pupils ranging in ages and abilities, making teaching more challenging. Collaborate with local teachers, assist students with pronunciation and conversational skills, and even design and deliver your own lessons once you’ve settled in.
Help make a real difference while immersing yourself in the local culture and experiencing all that beautiful Morocco has to offer. Ready for historic ruins, palm trees and community?
Environmental Education and Marine Conservation in Ecuador
Our community partners in Ecuador have developed an excellent Environmental Education Program as part of a Turtle and Marine Conservation Program on the coast. On this project, you can lend a hand and gain experience in two important development spheres, helping with turtle research and monitoring, while also reaching out to the community. For example, involve local school children in Environmental Conservation efforts with activities like beach cleaning, small garden construction and the creation of educational conservation murals.
Turtles and teaching – could it get any better than that?
